Job Role & Responsibilities:
- Perform Drive level and component level Failure analysis, identify the root cause, containment actions, solutions and preventive measures and to drive the implementation of such solutions to closure.
- Provide in-depth failure analysis and component expertise to Production, Process, Tooling, Customer Failure Analysis and Quality Assurance to resolve problems attributed to mechanical component deficiencies.
- Coordinate Engineering Evaluations on design changes, component revision rolls, process verifications or any deviations in materials or components to ascertain effects or benefits on production line yield, scrap, cycle time, OQA and reliability performance.
- Monitor specific lab facilities for components verification and analysis.
- Participate in product and technology transfers between sites. Work with Design Engineering from San Jose and Fujisawa on Component Design Enhancements, Engineering Change Order, Evaluation and coordinate implementation in the Factories.
- Follow up and drive supplier quality to resolve mechanical problems resulting from defective supplied components till full closure.
- Maintain and update a working knowledge on component technology, manufacturing methods and parts application.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic)
- 0-3 years working experience in high volume manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge in disk drive will be an advantage.
- Excellent SolidWorks skill.
- Exposure to SPC, Matlab will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrate a high sense of commitment and responsibilities towards the job.
- Be able to speak and write well in English.
